A few years ago, I heard about this fabulous photographer, Tamara. I inquired if she was available for second shooting, and she was! Tamara has been second shooting a couple of weddings a year with me over the last two (three?!) years. She is a talented wedding and family photographer herself, and chose one of the mosts beautiful venues in all of Chicago land for her own wedding, The Armour House. Tamara also chose a fantastic wedding photographer, a dear friend of hers, Rachael Osborn. When I heard that Rachael was photographing Tamara’s wedding at this dreamy venue, I knew I had to be the second shooter for the wedding! All of the details came together, and I happily trekked to Lake Forest to help capture Tamara and Tony’s beautiful wedding.
In the months leading up to the wedding, Tamara would text me little details of the wedding that were coming together. It was so fun to see a sneak peek of what the day would be like, and I knew everything was going to be amazing, down to the last detail. As May unfolded, and June came, Tamara kept mentioning that she hoped the peony gardens would still have blooms (her favorite flower). My garden bed of peonies had long expired, but for some magical reason (cooler weather closer to the lake?!) the gardens at The Armour House had bed after bed full of lush peonies. Dreamy!!!!
All throughout the day, I felt as if we had been transported to a villa in Italy. Surely we couldn’t still be in Illinois. How had I not visited this gem of a venue before? The Armour House is completely magical and charming in it’s old world architecture, and marble halls. This is my new favorite venue, and I cannot wait to visit again!
Congratulations to Tamara and Tony, being a part of your wedding day was so special! I wish you all the happiness a lifetime ahead can bring you!
