Because Melissa is from Charlotte, I am in Raleigh, and the wedding was held in Oriental, NC – we needed to find a location that would work for the bridal session. Melissa had seen pictures of the Carolina Inn online, and thought it would be a great spot for the session. I assured her that it would be a great location, rain or shine! We were threatened with rain, and had a little sprinkle at the end of the session. So I was glad that we had an indoor option, should we have needed it. Let me tell you though, the coordinator for the Carolina Inn had warned me that they were in their busiest season, with meetings, graduation parties and weddings. She wasn’t kidding! For a Friday afternoon, it was a very busy day there! But, we found an isolated courtyard that remained empty for the entire time we needed it, perfect!

I loved Melissa’s dress, and the accent belt that she added to it. It was sparkly, and perfect for her dress. She put the belt on once she was bustled for the reception, and it was a great touch! Her shoes…oh my I loved her shoes! Perfect pink, peep toe wedding shoes. They were a great addition to the dress and went perfectly with Melissa’s fun personality. I didn’t realize this at the bridal session, but once we were on the breezy coast for the wedding, her lace edged veil worked great in the wind. It had just enough weight at the bottom to keep it still when we needed it, but also floated gently in the breeze.
