Anne and Lawrence are the kind of people that you feel you could be best friends with instantly after meeting them both. Which I didn’t meet them (in person) until the wedding day! When Anne first contacted me last year about planning their Chicago Wedding at The Rookery downtown, I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to be a part of this celebration. Both Anne and Lawrence put so much thought and care into planning every detail of their wedding ceremony and reception at The Rookery. They hired a fantastic team of vendors to help bring the day together, and I was honored to be a part of that team.
I can honestly say that this was the most relaxed, easy going wedding that I have photographed this year. It seemed that every detail just came together, and everything was gorgeous. I think that a huge part of how amazing the day was is how laid back Anne and Lawrence are. They were so ready to enjoy their wedding day and enjoy the company of their loved ones surrounding them. I especially loved working with Anne’s parents. They are both the kindest souls you will ever meet. Anne’s mom checked in with me so many time throughout the day to make sure all was going well, and her joy and excitement for Anne and Lawrence’s big day was infectious. Some of my favorite pictures in this blog post are of Anne and her mother, laughing. What a sweet sweet family.
The day started off at the JW Marriott, which by the way, fabulous light in their suites facing west! I walked in and just wanted to soak up the gorgeous sunlight streaming into the spacious suite where the girls were prepping for the day. Anne chose the perfect dress for her, a Hailey Paige gown that was stunning. They layers of tulle and how the dress laid just took your breath away. I so enjoyed watching Anne swish her way through the day in that spectacular dress!
They decided to keep things all in one place and take their wedding photos in front of The Rookery, utilizing the Chicago Board of Trade building and beautiful LaSalle Street. And of course, the beautiful architecture of The Rookery. The staircases there make me swoon every time I see them. I am trying to figure out how to steal a set of those stairs for my house. hahaha!
Their touching ceremony was officiated by a cousin, who incorporated so my beautiful anecdotes about Anne and Lawrence. Many tears and moments of laughter! After quick photos outside, while their guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we took advantage of the architecture inside The Rookery and snapped a few more photos of the spiral staircase.
A memorable evening of delicious food, fantastic toasts by family and bridal party, followed by dancing the night away was the perfect was to cap off a beautiful Chicago Wedding. I am so very happy for these two and their lives together. Much joy and happiness to them!
