I first heard of Lauren from my good friend, Elizabeth in Raleigh. She connected Lauren (who is also from Raleigh but now lives in Chicago) and I for the special occasion of Andrew and Lauren’s engagement pictures. I so enjoyed meeting these two and of course chatting about life in Raleigh. Come to find out, Lauren’s childhood home was in the same neighborhood in Cary as Jamie and I’s first home. Small world!
These two are so sweet together. When we were discussing locations for their Chicago engagement session, we had plans all lined up, and then Chicago weather decided to put a chill on things. A big snowstorm blew through the day before, and frigid temperatures descended on Chicago. So, a few days before the session, I suggested Architectural Artifacts as a starting point for engagement photos. Knowing that it would be warm and cozy inside, but also a fabulous backdrop for photos. Lauren and Andrew were excited about this location suggestion because they love to go antiquing together. And if you have ever been to Architectural Artifacts, you know what a perfect spots this is for antiques! We had a blast wandering through the floors and floor of beautiful items and finding little nooks for photos.
We braved the cold temps after that and headed for a scenic Chicago backdrop, the Chicago Theater, The L, LaSalle Street bridge, Riverfront… We were freezing by the time we were done! But it was so worth it.
I am so happy for these two, that they have found each other to walk through life together.
