When you plan a March wedding in Chicago land, you take the risk of having a very gloomy gray day, or even a foot or two of snow! When Matt and Alyssa’s wedding day arrived, it was not only sunny, it was kind’ve warm…warm enough to be outside for 10 minutes and not have your nose freeze off. Hooray for a gorgeous Spring Wedding!
Matt and Alyssa are the sweetest couple, and their bridal party was such a fun and loving bunch. The joy that was shared on Matt and Alyssa’s day was evidenced by all. Alyssa is the “baby” of her family, the last of the three girls to get married. I love seeing how her sisters loved on her and were the best matrons of honor.
The ceremony was held at Wheaton Bible Church, and it was such a personal message to the bride and groom. But it was also relevant to those attending. I don’t know about you, but I can barely remember my wedding vows. Oh sure, a few key points here and there, but the ceremony (whole day!) went by so quickly, it’s hard to remember the charge by our pastor and our vows. Which is why I love listening to wedding sermons and hearing a good reminder of what love truly is, and what vows really mean. God must’ve known that I needed to be challenged by wedding sermons, because I hear about 25 a year!
The entryway to the church was the perfect spot for pictures of the bridal party and the couple. I don’t come across many church entries as beautiful and well lit as this one, I had to take advantage of it! Plus – I like to think that the bridal party was a little grateful that I didn’t drag all of them out in the cold!
On to Concorde Banquet’s in Kildeer. Where their reception was set up so beautifully! I hadn’t been to Concorde in about 12 years (one of the first weddings I ever photographer was there) and it has been updated and very elegant! I also love that they have a bit of space outside for portraits, which worked well for Matt and Alyssa to have a moment alone.
Thank you Matt and Alyssa for choosing me to capture wedding day, I am so glad that you had the perfect March day for a wedding!
