When I first met Adam and Marie a earlier this year, I was surprised to find out how many mutual friends we have! I couldn’t believe that we had never met before. Marie and I also quickly discovered our love of knitting and cooking. She and Adam shared with me their experience of making macrons, of which I was quite envious. I have been wanting make macarons for the longest time, but haven’t been brave enough to try! I am working up the courage now ;)
The days leading up to Adam and Marie’s wedding were rainy, dreary and oh so cold. Which has been typical for this odd Spring in Chicago land. During their rehearsal, snow was actually falling. What is this ridiculousness?!!! Thankfully, the weather cleared and their day was bright and sunny with just the right amount of clouds. We discussed how the weather can never be just right for the bridal party, either it is just a little too cold for bridesmaids and perfect for guys in their suits. Or it is warm enough for the bridesmaids, and way too hot for the guys! You just can’t win! Even though it was a little chilly, the bridesmaids rallied and made it through pictures without too much shivering.
I love that Marie had her Mom stand up as her Matron of Honor, and Adam asked his Dad to be his Best Man. What a special moment for parents to witness the union of their children as part of their bridal party. The entire bridal party was made up of parents and siblings!!! I think I asked all day, now who’s side do you belong to??
Their sweet ceremony was held at the Congregational United Church of Christ in St Charles, and their reception was held at the Wheaton Academy, and we finished the day with pictures at the lovely St James Park in Warrenville.
I am so happy that Adam and Marie entrusted me to capture their day for them. It was such a beautiful day!
