I have been looking forward to photographing Cate and Tim’s Biltmore wedding since I first started e-mailing Cate, months ago. It was like the “prize” at the end of summer, once the happy pool days and vacation days of summer were over…head to Asheville and photograph their wedding, at the Biltmore! To say that I was excited would be an understatement.
We had the perfect weather for their day. Blue skies, perfect temperature, puffy clouds and a slight breeze. We had more clouds roll in towards the time of the ceremony, but that just made for an even more gorgeous sunset. For those of you that have been to the Biltmore, you know how expansive the grounds are. I of course wanted to run from one end of the property to the other, and take pictures of Cate and Tim and everything in between. But of couse, wedding days have schedules, so we started at the gardens, and moved to the south terrace of the Biltmore house. Their vintage car met us in front of the Biltmore House, to take them up to The Diana for the ceremony. I had to take just a few pictures with the car, and then on the lawn in front of the Biltmore House. You could not ask for a better backdrop for wedding photos!
Their ceremony, overlooked the Biltmore, and the gorgeous sunset over the smoky mountains. It was a idyllic setting, and you couldn’t help but to get distracted by the hazy sky turning into an amber glow, just as Tim and Cate said their vows. Love.
I kept noticing throughout the day, how much love and care Cate and Tim showed to their guests. Their friends and family that had traveled far, to such a unique location for their wedding. Cate and Tim were so grateful to everyone that came and shared their day. It was such an intimate setting, and you could see Cate and Tim’s personality through that. They wanted a wedding where everyone could enjoy themselves, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and share in their love. It was very special to witness!
Cate and Tim, I hope that your honeymoon in Hawaii was wonderful and relaxing. I was privileged to share in your special day, and look forward to staying in touch!
