Daniella and Rolando’s story is truly an international love story…
When I first met Danielle, I couldn’t help but notice her South African accent…I could listen to her talk all day! She was born and raised in South Africa, and moved to North Carolina in her teens. She ended up at Mars Hill College, which is where my husband (Jamie!) attended college. He met Danielle through mutual friends (Aaron and Carlee) and they were acquaintances through college. I first met Danielle at Aaron and Carlee’s wedding, that I photographed three years ago.
After Mars Hill College, Danielle went to Costa Rica to work on her Masters Degree in Spanish. During her stay there, she decided to take tennis lessons, at a tennis academy that Rolando owns/instructs at. She caught Rolando’s eye right away, and after being convinced to go on a date…the rest is history! They had to date long distance for a few years, but once they were engaged and the details for the wedding were coming together, Danielle packed up her life in the US and headed to Costa Rica!
Jamie and I of course were thrilled when the details worked out for us to fly to Costa Rica and capture their wedding. Destination weddings are definitely a highlight of the year for us!
It was a beautiful day, with the ceremony being held at sunset, on the beach. We of course had fun with pictures before and after the ceremony of Danielle and Rolando. Once the wedding festivities were over, they were off to Paris and Italy for their honeymoon. I hear that they are back home and settling into married life, a perfect time for them to view a few wedding photos!
So glad that we could be a part of your day Danielle and Rolando! Wishing you the best in your life together!
