I have been looking forward to Lindsay and Jamie’s wedding day since I photographed them at their engagement session last Fall! I knew that it would be such a fun and beautiful wedding, full of details that Lindsay put so much work into.
When I arrived for the rehearsal the day before the wedding, I felt like I was showing up for a family members wedding. Lindsay’s parents were so warm and welcoming, as were Jamie’s parents. They have such a great group of loving family members and a bridal party that was so happy to be celebrating Lindsay and Jamie’s big day.
As the wedding day arrived, and I started photographing the girls, I could just feel how excited and nervous Lindsay was. Every detail was coming together around the outside of the Barrington House, and in the tented reception in the backyard. I have never seen such a hum of activity going on, with flowers going up, branches being hung, arches being made, candles being placed and tables set. No detail was left unnoticed. But, I knew that Lindsay was concerned about all of the details, plus the fact that she needed to be dressed and ready for their big day!! Everything came together beautifully, and I know that so many people put a lot of effort into the finishing touches!
The ceremony was held outdoors, on the front lawn of the Barrington House, and it was perfect. There were so many grins and big smiles exchanged between Jamie and Lindsay. Their minister was an old friend of Jamie’s and he shared a few humorous stories of growing up with Jamie. I love the personal touch that a “friend/minister” adds to a ceremony.
After quickly doing family photos, bridal party and just of Jamie and Lindsay, they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Wilson and the reception was underway! What a fun evening, of a packed dance floor, cool weather and plenty of amazing food. Seriously, the food was phenomenal. I was able to chat with the chef for a few minutes, and was entertained with stories of living all over the country and developing his skills as a chef. I would say that his food is hands down the best I have ever had at a wedding reception…and you know how many of those I have been to ;)
The party lasted late into the night…and ended with a sparkler exit, and a sparkler “twirl” (see the last photo).
Jamie and Lindsay – I have loved getting to know both of you, and your families. It was such an honor to photograph your day and I wish you the best in the years to come!!
