The weekend of Diana and Wesley’s wedding, I watched the rain just pour down on Saturday. It was such a wet and soggy day, and I have never been more thankful that a wedding was on a Sunday! Because Sunday dawned bright and beautiful, with plenty of sunshine and no rain!
When I arrived at the Carolina Inn, everything was running along smoothly, thanks to Kailey from A Southern Soiree. I did preparation photos of the girls, and fell in love with Diana’s lace covered dress, and the bridesmaids purple dresses! Both were perfect for a Spring wedding. We had fun with the girls outside, and wandered around the property for photos. Then the girls were off to hide, and the groomsmen came out. Wesley was in dress uniform, as he is in the Army. It was fun to watch the guys interact, and congratulate Wesley on the big day.
The ceremony was beautiful, and may or may not have included the groomsmen handing Wesley “Spam” (yes SPAM!) as they proceeded down the aisle. I found out that it was just a little joke that they had wanted to play, without being too obvious. The minister was handed a big stack of Spam to hide right before Diana walked down the aisle. It gave everyone a good chuckle!
What a fun bridal party! As you can tell from the swords in a few photos, I had a hard time convincing the guys to do a few photos *without* their props. It was fun though! Such a good looking, happy group. I had a few moments with Diana and Wesley, and we caught what sun we could, and enjoyed seeing them interact – they are married!!!
Fresh Affairs Florist did an amazing job with the Old Well Room, everything looked elegant and twinkly. Randy from Joe Bunn DJ Company, got the reception off to a great start, and everyone enjoyed the dance floor throughout the night. Diana later told me that her side of the family loves to dance! So they kept the dance floor full!
After their bubble exit, I took Diana and Wesley to the Old Well on UNC Campus for a few night shots. We had fun with a few sparkler shots, and long exposures. It’s amazing what you can capture when you are *really* still :)
Diana and Wesley, I had such a great time getting to know you and capturing your wedding day. I wish you all the best, and a lifetime of happiness and joy together!
