I absolutely adore my little niece Keira. Just over one year ago, I had plans to be in Chicago to photograph a wedding. Little miss Keira was supposed to have already made her appearance, and I was going to do a newborn session for her when she was about a week old. However, she decided to be 8 days late, making it possible for me to be present at her birth. What an amazing and beautiful experience!!! Even though I live a thousand miles away, I felt incredibly blessed to have been present at such a big event. You can’t plan for those things, they just happen!
I have loved watching her sweet little personality develop, loved seeing her infectious smile at such a young age, and those chubby baby cheeks slowly disappear. She is such a little girl now, and no longer a baby. She isn’t quite walking yet, and as you can see from the pictures, she would prefer walking attempts with someone’s fingers to hold on to. I love that while on our road trip to Iowa (attending a wedding/purpose of my trip) I attempted painting her fingernails…a very amusing experience! Where more nail polish ended up on her face and blankie than on her nails!
I am so thankful that I am able to make frequent trips up to Chicago to visit my nephews and nieces…being a part of their lives is so important to me. And I am happy to say that I have witnessed more milestones than have missed….for an auntie that is :) Jamie and I are to be “Uncle” and “Auntie” again in just a few days…Elodie should be making her appearance shortly! Then come January, my “little” brother and sister in-law are expecting a little one! That makes SIX nephews and nieces for us!!! I better start my Christmas shopping now…
I love you baby Keira!!!!

I can’t end the post without one picture of Sterling! He is getting to be such a little boy, and not so much a toddler anymore!!! Love him!!!
