Let me introduce you to my sweet little niece, Keira Marie. She is a doll. She also wanted to take her sweet time making her entrance into the world.
I was not at all planning on, or expecting to be present at her birth when I was in the Chicago area for a visit, but as it turns out…I was. It was a privilege to be part of such huge moment in the lives of my brother and sister in-law, and I know Keira will always hold a special place in my heart. As does her big brother Sterling, whom I just want to put in my suitcase and take home!!!
I will say, for some odd reason, the anticipation of Keira’s arrival sent me in to a “crafting frenzy”. My sister and I used to crochet like mad when we were younger, whipping out baby blankets and afghans. But as I have been browsing on etsy, and seeing cute newborn hats for newborn sessions, I thought surely I could make those myself! I’ve become a frequent guest at our local yarn store and always walk away with more yarn than I should :)
Then, after ordering two unique flower headbands from etsy, Megan (sister inlaw) convinced me that with the right fabric, we could make the headbands ourselves. And we did! I was so proud of our crafty-ness. The purple, green and brown flowers in the pictures are what we came up with. I might just start a little etsy store in my downtime. Ha! What downtime?!
This of course, is the first of many photo shoots that I will do of little Keira. I am getting quite the collection of photos from my nephew and now two nieces! I am one proud Auntie :)
