I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, I love when clients find me in the most unique way. Earlier this year, I had a meeting with a client at Caribou Coffee. I was showing them albums, talking about their big day, discussing details etc… Keith happened to be in the same room, a few tables away. Once our meeting was over, and my clients had left, Keith came up to me and we started chatting. He is also a photographer, into architectural photography. He and his fiance Carrie were in the middle of wedding planning, and were looking for a photographer. So we talked shop, flipped through albums and parted ways! A couple weeks later, they booked me for their Sunday wedding in the Raleigh Little Theater Rose Garden. What a fun way to meet a new client!!!
Tucked away in the Rose Garden, on a Sunday evening, was a beautiful, serene setting for a wedding. Keith had mentioned to me several times how he had been scoping out the garden for quite some time, taking pictures there and determining the optimal time for a spring, evening wedding. Well, he nailed it! The sun had just dipped over the tree line, and the lighting was perfect! I love outdoor weddings, and when all of the pieces fall in to place, it makes for great photos :)
I have to give a shout out to Keith’s sister, who created Carrie’s beautiful dress, and finished it the *day* of the wedding. Nothing like a little deadline to get a project done! It was a beautiful creation, and very “Carrie”. She is quite talented!
Their reception was held at the Caffe Luna, a place that I have been wanting to photograph at for some time! Their staff is amazing there, and very attentive to the guests needs and of course the food was delicious. Right before we headed into the reception, Keith suggested heading up to the top of a parking deck near Caffe Luna. The sun was setting, and with the skyline in the background, it was a gorgeous view of the city. I had wanted to go to the Boylan street bridge, but due to the cranes that are now cluttering the skyline, the parking deck was a good choice!! The view of the RBC building was striking.
All in all – beautiful wedding for two very in love people. They have such a sweet group of family and friends, and you could tell that they were all so excited for Keith and Carrie.

Keith and Carrie incorporated a beautiful thing into the ceremony, something that I had not seen before. The best man, and maid of honor took the rings (tied together with a ribbon) and passed them amongst the rows of guests. To warm them and bless them. It was touching. Her mom is “warming” them here.

Please be patient, as the slideshow will pre-load before playing!
Happy weekend!
