I am back from our full weekend out in the mountains, such a great time with Jamie’s family!! I don’t think I will eat until Christmas!!
As I jumped back in to work this morning, playing christmas music, burning my Mistletoe (Yankee) candle (because Yankee candles are THE BEST!!!), I came across these two pics…
And if you know me at all, you know that I do not have a deep fondness for dogs in my heart. We had golden retrievers growing up, and I adored them. But somewhere along the lines of losing Dusty and Honeybear, I gave up on ever loving another dog. Then, over the years, I just came to the realization of how much work they are and no matter how hard I tried, I would always have dog hair everywhere. So, from the beginning, Jamie and I agreed on “no dogs”. Still…I always say “if we ever get a dog, it will be an adorable chocolate lab”. I will probably say that forever and never get one! Jamie will keep me strong in our no dog resolve!
However, during my photo shoot last weekend, this chocolate lab Jackson, just melted my heart. He was the first to greet me at the door, and never wanted to leave my side as he was curious to what I was doing the whole time I was there. And when he was put outside (pictured right), he just gave you the saddest eyes that makes you want to fling open the door and welcome him back in. He seems like the perfect family dog, definitely a good guard dog, as the family was alerted to my arrival long before I left my mini…
So, no – I don’t particularly like dogs, as in “I will never own one”. However, if you have a family pet that wants to be in on your family photos, by all means, I will capture him/her too!!
I promise to post more people pictures later…just couldn’t resist these eyes!
