Thanks for stopping by!! This is the place where the current happenings of Joy Lyn Photography are posted, with an occasional post on the adventures of myself and my amazing husband, Jamie.

A little about me... I love photography. I have so much fun with all aspects of it. From engagement sessions, to weddings, tiny newborns, family pictures, and traveling the world, I enjoy every second I get to spend behind my camera.

Since getting married three years ago, my travels around the globe have lessened. But that doesn't mean I enjoy life any less. I love my Jamie, and every second we spend together. We are always cooking up something fun to do, and he is always making me laugh. I love to laugh. I love to see others laugh, and will do just about anything to make that happen.

Becky and David | Formal Session | Duke Chapel

Becky and David will be getting married in China in May! Becky e-mailed me a few months ago, and inquired about an engagement session, and a formal session to take place in the RTP area. They wanted to be able to display the photos at their ceremony in China. I thought, what a great way to show their family and friends in China the beautiful area that they live in here in the US.

I really enjoyed working with both of them, we did their engagement session right before Easter, and then their formal session this past Sunday. We could not have asked for better weather! The Spring blossoms are in full bloom and everything is so bright and beautiful.
We started at the Sarah Duke Gardens, and then moved on to the Duke Chapel. My favorite images are from the chapel with the cherry blossoms, breathtaking!!

Elizabeth and Matt | Chapel Hill Engagement Session

Last Saturday felt like the true beginning of Spring. Still a little chill to the air, but warm enough that you just knew Spring is truly on its way!

I was so excited to meet up with Elizabeth and Matt at UNC in Chapel Hill. We had fun wandering all over campus, stopping at the perfect spots for pictures. The engagement session gave me the opportunity to get to know them a little better, as this was our first in person meeting. They are such a sweet, fun couple, completely relaxed for their engagement session. As we trekked around campus, I grilled Elizabeth on all of the details for their big day, coming up in August, I love wedding details!! It sounds like there will be a beautiful wedding in just a few short months.

Luke | Raleigh Newborn Photography

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect newborn session. Luke’s momma had warned me that he is kind of a fussy baby, and to be prepared. I came armed with every trick up my sleeve for lulling a newborn to sleep. When I arrived for the session, Luke was asleep. So, we proceeded with the session, he slept the entire time. Never once opened his eyes! By far the sleepiest baby I have ever met. Well done, Luke!
